My "Martha Stewart" husband :)

So, my sweet hubby calls me while I'm driving home from So.Cal. last Saturday, the day before Easter and proclaims, " I think I'm gay." Hmm...what do you say to that?! His reasoning behind this statement is the cute basket you see pictured here-my Easter basket that he so thoughtfully put together all by himself. He said he had so much fun picking out towels, dish rags, bath sponges, notepad and soap that matched, along with the kiwis and mangoes, and then had an even better time arranging it all in the basket. Seriously, it is a work of art--Martha Stewart better watch out! Thanks Johnny, I love you!!

Where's the Easter Bunny?

We had a fun Easter, yet Avery kept asking to see the Easter Bunny. "Where is the Easter Bunny?" she asked several times. We had to explain to her that the bunny had alot of kids to visit and had to leave before she woke up. She enjoyed finding the hidden eggs and was even happier when we told her to open them up. "Chocolate!" she said. It was so cute! We had some friends over after church and had another egg hunt with their kids too. Lucky Johnny has been having egg hunts with Avery every night for the past week!

Happy Birthday Grandma!

Avery and I were able to spend the week with Grandma and Grandpa in Southern California for Grandma's birthday. My parents flew into Northern Cal. and we spent the afternoon with Zach and Kelly and then drove down to So. Cal. for the week. Johnny got to stay home and practice his golf swing...and work :) He had several offers from friends and neighbors to feed him--them knowing that he was a bachelor for a week! Golf is his newest pastime, and, according to him, he is hitting the ball really good now. I have yet to go out to the driving range with him, he keeps asking, so I guess I gotta get out there soon. Anyway, we had a fun week with Grandma and Grandpa, can't wait to see Grandma again in a few weeks!

Slowly, but surely...

Ok, I've been a slacker lately, cause my computer has been giving me grief!! I'm now using Johnny's and only have the chance to use it at night. Anyway, we have been BUSY BUSY with adoption paperwork and taking pictures for our Birthmother Letter. Thought I'd share a few of the pics we took a week ago. Thanks to my brother Zach being a total goofball, we got many laughs and big smiles out of Avery. So, after 2 "photo sessions", we hope we have found our picture! Man, we took like 50+ pictures...Seriously Zach, we couldn't have done it without you!! Thanks! Hopefully, by May 1st, we will be "on the books" ready and waiting to adopt.

The great thing about living so close to I-5, -we get visitors!!

We were able to have some of Avery's birthfamily visit us yesterday! I spoke to Elsha,Avery's birthmom, on Wednesday and she mentioned that her Mom and Dad had her kids and they were in California, so we got in touch with them, and they happened to be passing right by Patterson today. They were on their way down to So. Cal., so they were able to stop by for a couple hours and visit and let the kids play. Avery, Gage and Madison had such a fun time together. They hated to say good-bye to eachother. Johnny gave Gage our set of Star Wars movies (not something we bought-just for the record)--he was really eyeing them up :) So, the kids "traded" and gave us their Ratatouille movie. We had a great visit with Diane, Mark, Madison and Gage--hope they come again soon!
