Playing at Grandma and Grandpa's

Avery and I are in Utah for a couple weeks to visit with family and friends. Grandma and Grandpa are actually overseas on a vacation, but we came to keep Laura and Cait company. Michelle, Jeremy and Brooklyn also drove into town to hang out with all of us. Avery is enjoying time with "kids" as she calls all her cousins and friends. She is having a difficult time understanding why she hasn't seen Grandma and Grandpa yet; we are excited to see them this weekend.

Sports Bone 68

Ok, I know the title sounds weird, it is. Growing up, my Dad use to take us to Giants games at Candlestick Park. That is a fond memory for me. We spent many cold late nights cheering our team on. On the way home, we would always listen-and fall asleep to-"Sports Bone 68", or so I thought. Years later, when I finlly asked what Sports Bone meant, I found out it was actually Sports Phone 68. It was a radio post game show on KNBR 68. People would call in to talk about the game--hence the name Sports Phone...My Dad still listens to it to this day-any way he can. On the internet, muffled through the car radio-yes, from California to Utah, he tries to get his KNBR 68. So, this weekend, we took Avery to her first SF Giants game. The name of the stadium has changed a few times since then, but it sure was fun to take Avery-and yes, she wore her Giants shirt (#25) and rooted for her team. Also, I saw the booth where they host the post game show! It will always be Sports Bone from Candlestick Park, to me.

Happy 4th of July

We enjoyed 4th of July with our friends Ryan and Lisa. We bbq'd and lit off some fireworks. Avery didn't like the fireworks, they were too loud for her. She was covering her ears, then eventually I had to take her inside. She did have fun earlier in the evening playing with her friend Jonathan. We made some yummy homemade ice-cream too!

Move over Ty Pennington...

Oh yeah baby, you're not so hot anymore Ty, look at me!! Extreme Home Makeover better watch out... Yes, this is Avery trying to help Mommy and Daddy paint the new pergola we built. Finally the backyard is mostly done!! We still need to plant more trees and flowers, but for the most part, we are enjoying the yard now. Avery has her little pool, I have my veggie garden, and Johnny has some shade to relax in.

Fun in the Sun

Sunset at the lake
One word: beautiful

We were able to take a week and go to Lake Tahoe. It was beautiful as usual. Most of you heard about the fire there that week though-so that did put some smoke and ashes in the air. Thankfully we were ok though, we didn't need to evacuate, as did some families we met while we were there. Other than that it was a great week. We bbq'd at the beach, Johnny went parasailing, we took a day cruise around the lake, and just spent time by the pool. It was a relaxing week for us.
