Halloween!

Love California on Halloween--it was so warm! At the resort we stayed at in Newport Beach, they put on a great, free event the morning of Halloween. The kids went on a scavenger hunt and played games for prizes. That night, Avery, Wyatt and their cousins got to trick-or-treat in the hills of Newport Beach...amazing... The weather was perfect, the people were inviting and the candy--well, we have TONS!! (I'm not one of those people who gives away all the candy to a dentist or something crazy like that...I eat it...)

Old Town San Diego

One of our favorite places--Old Town San Diego, we visited there after our day at the San Diego Zoo. The kids got in their costumes and trick-or-treated (the night before Halloween) in the square at Old Town...so much fun!!

While in California, we visited my Aunt and Uncle in Los Angeles. They have a gorgeous house in the hills of LA--you can see the Griffith Observatory from their house (in the middle picture) We enjoyed the afternoon with them, while hanging out in their backyard. Avery got to "swim" in their hot tub--and had too much fun. Love you John and Marsky~can't wait to see you again!

...forgot to post...Avery's Halloween party!

Before we left for So. Cal., I let Avery have a little Halloween party for her and a few friends. We went to the library, all dressed up, for storytime. Then, we came back to our house to decorate cookies, play games and have lunch before school. I'm so happy that Avery is enjoying school and has made some cute friends there!

San Diego Zoo!

On our most recent trip to So.Cal. we ventured to the San Diego Zoo--and spent the whole day there--it is a HUGE zoo! Avery's favorite animals were the giraffes. It was a beautifully sunny day in San Diego...oh how I miss California!

Scary Hill...aka Cherry Hill :)

We had a fun evening, the week before Halloween, at "Scary" Hill. We mini-golfed, rock-climbed, went through a little hay maze and rode on a golf cart for a scavenger hunt. Cherry Hill did a great job of transforming their place for Halloween--it was so cute!

Our good friends, Craig and Andrea, came for a visit! They live in Indiana and it had been 4 years since we'd seen them...we are gonna make sure it's not that long next time!! We love hanging out them and had a wonderful visit with them. We took them up to Snowbird Resort, Johnny and Craig went hunting one afternoon/evening, Andrea and I got to shop a little and get pedicures, we carved pumpkins with the kiddos...and just hung out! Love you guys, can't wait to see you again.
